Interrogation - Schiaparelli Couture S/S 2026

Bar Talercio, 8:59 p.m. Judges are seated, going over what they have observed.

Couture Week 2026 was something.. It was both positively and deceptively surprising. Some brands understood the assignment while others lived it. Judge Silhouette from the nation of Sensaciato is sitting with Judge Return from the nation of Intimaciato. They decided to gather and debate some of the recent couture collections. Today's focus: Schiaparelli.

Schiaparelli did not simply understand the assignment when it comes to couture, they live it, they embrace it, they embody it. While some might have understood the principle and act on it, Schiaparelli went beyond and inhabited it. The judges might have some clear bias here as Schiaparelli is one of their favorite brands; that being said, bias aside, interrogation is starting.

Observed Code:

Bar Debate - Schiaparelli 2026

Judge Silhouette: "This fashion week, we have decided to focus on our most imperative law (Talercio L.I-R.1.1.); we are looking for intent in this collection."

Judge Return: "Intent indeed, it should be clear as day that memory and provocation have merged to create something never seen. It is couture after all, I should expect the unexpected."

Judge Silhouette: "SCHIAPARELLI! That's all I need to say."

Judge Return: "Exceptional, remarquable. Look 1 (the white blazer and black pants) is the perfect opening look, it screams restraint, memory, confidence. The feathers are incredible and elevated the whole look. Beyond that, the choice of not accessorizing this look shows a designer whose taste is unquestionable. Clearly, the focus is the look and nothing should steal the light from it. This look walked into the room like it had diplomatic immunity!"

Judge Silhouette: "Agreed, clearly! Most of the looks were incredible, they provoke discord just enough to satisfy my curiosity. Look 3 (the white embroidered dress) is a favorite of mine. The embroidery on this dress have a life of their own. The 3D concept has elevated the whole concept. The shoes, the necklace melting into the dress as if it's part of it and the makeup so simple yet so elegant have proven discernment. The embroidery wasn't decoration, it was a confession."

Judge Return: "There's so much to say, we could stay here all day. This breathtaking collection has proven once again that art in fashion is still alive. Let's talk about Look 6 (the black leather dress) which is our favorite from the entire collection. The construction of the dress alone is worth an Oscar."

Judge Silhouette: "Oscar is for movies."

Judge Return: "Well, a Pulitzer prize."

Judge Silhouette: "Hellooo, this is for journalism."

Judge Return: "You get the gist of it, the bodice shape that's not supposed to keep its shape but does somehow and the fabric texture itself with the contrast between larger and smaller details, this is nitpicking, an attention to details no one else seems to match."

Judge Silhouette: "Let's not forget the ruffle back. What's fascinating is this look shouldn't work, not even on paper; however, the final result is breathtaking. To the earrings and the necklace, I say yes anytime. The shoes... the shoes, the dreamy shoes. Did I mention the shoes?"

Judge Return: "I want them now, the cut in those shoes, Deja Good! But to every great collection, there's this one look."

Judge Silhouette: "Please don't mention it. I pretend Look 24 (black blazer + pants set) doesn't exist. It never happened! I mean what is that. Blazer... absolutely, beautiful, very well designed and cut. Those pants though, they deserve jail time. The trousers declared war on reason."

Judge Return: "What kind of color combination and fabric mix is that? I want my thoughts to be provoked, here they were disturbed. The pants felt like a design that was trying to remember its origin and got lost along the way. "

Judge Silhouette: "The gradient and the fabric were having a fight and there's no clear winner. I can't help but wonder if someone was half asleep when designing those pants! They almost ruin the collection for me. But, I will forgive this slip in design since the follow-up looks are exactly what we know Schiaparelli for."

Judge Return.: "Unfortunately. This collection is giving Deja Exquisite. I want it all."

Judge Silhouette: "Regrettably. This collection defies gravity. Gravity is disturbed."
