Principle
PRIN.01 - No Individual Is Above Examination - Celebrities. Designers. Brands. Editors. Institutions. All may be investigated.
PRIN.02 - Opinion Must Declare Its Bias - Every perspective contains preference. Every preference contains bias. Bias must be disclosed.
PRIN.03 - Taste Is Not Truth - The Keeperium evaluates. It does not decree universal fact.
PRIN.04 - Evidence Precedes Determination - No verdict without investigation.
PRIN.05 - Contradiction Is Not A Crime - Refusal to acknowledge contradiction is.
PRIN.06 - National Sovereignty - No Nation shall compel another Nation to abandon its governing philosophy. Meaning: Taste cannot force Provocation to value restraint. Provocation cannot force Nostalgia to value disruption. Bank cannot force Indulgence to prioritize profitability.
PRIN.07 - Foundation - No Keeperium shall govern the Curatorial alone.
Provision
PRO.01 - The Keeperium recognizes that visibility and impact are not interchangeable concepts.
PRO.02 - The Keeperium recognizes that luxury pricing alone does not constitute luxury.
PRO.03 - The Republic recognizes that nostalgia shall not be used as a substitute for innovation.
Philosophy
PHI.01 - The Philosophy of Defense - Every individual, brand, institution, publication, product, or cultural phenomenon brought before the Keeperium shall be entitled to a defense. And then the important part: The Keeperium shall not rely upon self-representation. Defense arguments must be presented and considered within the proceedings themselves.
PHI.02 - The Philosophy of Context - No determination shall be rendered without reasonable consideration of historical, cultural, commercial, and material context. Meaning: A luxury house isn’t judged the same way as an independent designer. A debut collection isn’t judged the same way as a house with a century of history.
PHI.03 - The Philosophy of Contradiction - The Republic recognizes contradiction as a natural condition of culture.
PHI.04 - The Philosophy of Perspective Autonomy - Each Keeperium shall retain full autonomy over its perspective, priorities, and methods of evaluation. Meaning: Taste does not have to agree with Provocation. Provocation does not have to agree with Nostalgia. Nostalgia does not have to agree with Embodiment.
PHI.05 - The Philosophy of Single Perspective - No Keeperium shall be compelled to abandon its governing philosophy in favor of another.
PHI.06 - The Philosophy of Provocation - The Keeperium of Provocation shall retain the right to advocate for greater experimentation, greater risk, greater disruption, and greater cultural movement.
PHI.07 - The Philosophy of Nostalgia - The Keeperium of Nostalgia shall retain the right to preserve memory, continuity, heritage, and cultural lineage.
PHI.08 - The Philosophy of Taste - The Keeperium of Taste shall retain the right to evaluate refinement, execution, coherence, and aesthetic quality.
PHI.09 - The Philosophy of Embodiment - The Keeperium of Embodiment shall retain the right to evaluate lived experience, wearability, practicality, and human interaction.
PHI.10 - The Philosophy of Balance - The Keeperium of Balance shall retain the right to advocate for moderation, proportion, and equilibrium. Meaning: Balance exists to prevent extremes.
PHI.11 - The Philosophy of Indulgence - The Keeperium of Indulgence shall retain the right to advocate for pleasure, desire, fantasy, spectacle, and emotional satisfaction.
PHI.12 - The Philosophy of Bank - The Keeperium of Bank shall retain the right to evaluate economic consequence, commercial viability, market performance, and financial sustainability. Meaning: Bank doesn’t care whether something is beautiful. Bank cares whether it survives.
PHI.13 - The Philosophy of Jurisdiction - The Keeperium of Jurisdiction shall retain the right to determine whether a matter properly belongs before the Republic. Meaning: Jurisdiction isn’t deciding whether something is good. Jurisdiction decides whether the Republic should even be discussing it.
